ABOUT THE ROLE

Banana Republic marketing department is seeking a visionary VP of Brand Creative to helm our brand creative group. Both a leader of people and a magnet of ideas and the latest trends in consumer behavior and technology, this person will be responsible for leading the brand creative practice and growing the Banana Republic brand footprint in the content, social and media space. This new leader will be a true innovator, championing a pioneering creative work that will set new industry standards. As fashion brands spend more and more time and resources on having a dialogue with their customers via socially-driven content, this person will be a thought-leader who is adept at identifying opportunities for innovation and impact, partnering Banana Republic with right personalities, brands and collaborators in exciting new ways. A creative lighting rod and strategic thinker, this person will also be a mentor - growing the existing creative team, while also honing Banana Republic’s creative edge and cultural resonance. Based in New York, this person will report into Ana Andjelic, Chief Brand Officer of Banana Republic.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Role:

Creatively partner with the Chief Brand Officer and Head of Brand Strategy to realize the global brand vision for Banana Republic and deliver brand, social, digital media and content ideas and executions that leverage the brand territory and the brand’s visual and verbal identity
This is a dynamic role: one day, the job may be sitting on a casting call, approving writing scripts, and overseeing photo shoots. VP of Brand Creative needs to be an expert in all facets of the creative process and the creative industry
Direct all brand creative operations within the company, working with visual designers, copywriters, packaging, sales, social and marketing teams
Ensure all the company’s visuals are consistent with the overall brand. Manage development of brand style guides.
Lead design of all consumer packaging, promotional & collateral materials, POS materials, print & digital ads and live event graphics
Plays an essential role in the marketing, creative, social, PR, visual merchandising and content departments and is responsible for developing creative guidelines and directing creative work
Responsible for 360 degree strategy for key collections and able to work across variety of media, such as film, social & web content, print, online video, e-commerce, CRM, event graphics and collateral, digital media, email campaigns, websites, packaging, physical spaces and location design
Monitors marketing mix and results by coordinating tracking actions with marketing team
Serve as a manager, mentor and team member - directing, inspiring, and doing
Hire, train and develop a team to deliver on the brand’s creative vision

The Candidate:

A collaborative, inspirational, and omnichannel?minded creative, strategic and operational leader who is proven at growing businesses and brands through creativity
A deep knowledge of the fashion, apparel and lifestyle verticals is a must
Experience in working with fashion brands; proven understanding of the global fashion industry and its key growth drivers and trends
Superior ability to create brand development and multichannel brand marketing concepts for others to work on. Creative concepts and their executions must reflect core marketing & advertising, sales and digital strategies for the brand
Has intimate understanding of design, copy and web best practices. Need to recognize fresh approaches to online and offline brand communication. Need to continuously come up with new ideas for brand messages, TOF campaigns and social and content narratives
Possesses a deep and working knowledge of the digital media landscape and can navigate all aspects effortlessly
Has analytical skills and is able to analyze trends, look at new data and constantly optimize ROI of their creative output. Able to revise marketing plans by analyzing its results and identifying expansion opportunities
Proven project management experience
Understands brand management, marketing, advertising, social media, and e- commerce
Industry-recognized talent with proven ability to deliver business results A seasoned, modern brand creative with 10+ years of experience connecting and executing creative solutions for brands across a range of mediums, ideally at fashion brands, creative agencies, branding shops, content studios, or some combination of the above
A big picture thinker who can infuse new creative skills into the organization and elevate the quality of all of our work
