Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with management and lead engineers to design, develop, test, commission, and maintain software and firmware solutions required by our customers.
Ensure all software artifacts, including source code and supporting documents, are maintained.
Act as a subject matter expert to support the setting of project priorities, requirements, and schedules.
Work with management and lead engineers to continually develop and improve the processes and procedures used by the engineering department.
Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and design goals are continually met.
Ensure all work performed is in accordance with NOV’s standard practices and policies, including safety and environmental requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Control System Engineering or similar, OR 5+ years' experience in firmware design and implementation.
Knowledge and experience with IEC 61131-3(Structured Text) or C/C++ programming preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Object Oriented Programming preferred.
Knowledge and experience with other programming languages would be an asset.
Knowledge and experience of automation systems and components would be an asset.
Knowledge and experience in networking and communications would be an asset.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Some travel may be required greater than 25% annually
Consistent computer work may require 8 or more hours working at a desk 
Extended standing and light lifting (less than 25 pounds) may be required
