Job Description
Job Overview/Summary
To ensure proper start-up and shutdown of the line operations, prepping and operation of equipment, set-up equipment, clean and sanitize the equipment, and insure components are fed into the equipment with good quality as an output.
Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Ensure proper operation of equipment
2. Assemble various components to create a finish good with the goal to complete a Burt’s Bees, Inc., product for retail sale
3. Assist with equipment changeovers and set up equipment
4. Perform conveyor changeovers.
5. Make boxes, print labels and insure proper labels are on the boxes.
6. Insure proper case fit and pallet pattern
7. Follow guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment.
8. Identify and sort product and components by name and by description.
9. Correct add components to the line (including threading & splicing labels).
10. Check for quality aesthetics & standards and cleanliness of the product before the product is packaged.
11. Package product, seal cases, and put cases on a pallet.
12. Place empty pallets on the lines and remove FG pallets via a pallet jack.
13. Rework product as necessary.
14. Assist with resolving product and equipment issues and problems
15. Maintain Good Manufacturing Processes and a clean / safe work area.
16. Adhere to all safety regulations
17. Alert the Line Lead immediately if there are any safety concerns or issues
18. Recommend proactive action to remedy problems with equipment, component, raw materials or product
19. Assist in the mechanical procedures of the production line, including assisting equipment maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
20. Communicate issues out of the norm to the Fill Tech or Line Lead
21. Maintain excellent team-oriented working relationship among team members.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Skills, Abilities, Experience and Education Required
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds and hauling weight in excess of 1000 pounds on a hand truck. Physically capable of long periods of standing (up to ten hours). Physically capable of finger, arm, & wrist dexterity and twisting. High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Work Keys: RFI = 3; AM = 3; LI = 3 Good basic math and reading comprehension skills Must be willing to work 3rd shift
