Powertrain Reliability and Test Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Powertrain Reliability & Test Engineer to develop LiveWire’s expertise in reliability engineering, test methodology, requirements, and validation. You will be responsible for growing and improving our test capabilities to enable efficient design development and accurate validation. You will work closely with each team and subsystem, enabling us to rapidly improve designs through iterative testing, issue isolation and root cause failure analyses. You will also utilize DFMEA tools and system level requirements to develop test plans and understand test coverage and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

•    Specify, source, build, manage, and operate test infrastructure to support powertrain development and validation.
•    Create DFMEAs, DVP&Rs and test plans, and track issues and risk / exposure.
•    Lead by example to advance best practices and capabilities in instrumentation, data collection and analysis, documentation and reporting, test design, and safety protocols.
•    Help develop a deeper understanding of every design you touch.

Qualifications

•    BS or MS Engineering +6 years related experience.
•    Direct experience validating mechatronic systems for safety critical applications and volume production.
•    Experience working from high level requirements and collecting field data to design tests and prescribing test plans / DVP&R.
•    Experience creating DFMEAs and using them to drive test coverage.
•    Proficiency working with CAN-based communications strongly preferred.
•    Excellent hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Comfortable engaging ME/EE/SW experts to resolve issues across disciplines.
•    Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.
