POSITION SUMMARY
Will provide production chemical support, corrosion mitigation strategies, risk assessment, failure analysis and integrity management support. The position is located in Gillette, Wyoming and could require travel between the Riverton and Gillette, Wyoming field offices and throughout Devon’s operations in the Rockies Business Unit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Provide production chemical support, corrosion strategies, risk assessment, and integrity management support to the production operations group
• Must demonstrate safe and ethical behavior at all times

• Prioritize projects, monitor costs and results, and make recommendations to optimize chemical treating processes
• Develop and implement SOP’s and technical documents
• Work closely with chemical companies and chemical representatives
• Evaluate effectiveness of chemical treatment and improve process related to drilling, completions and production
• Maintain and analyze data through SAP
• Gathering and analysis of technical data to optimize the chemical program with the goal to minimize chemical
cost and asset failures
• Educate Lease Operators about the chemicals, injection rates, and chemical injection/storage equipment used in
their area
• Participate in monthly chemical review with vendors and Devon staff
• Implement failure analysis reviews for corrosion induced failures; report results of reviews during monthly chemical reviews
• Perform cost/benefit analysis of individual chemicals along with each area’s chemical program
• Review H2S scavenging technology for equipment design improvements over what is currently in place
• Review H2S batch treating processes currently in place for design and effectiveness improvements
• Monitor and repair cathodic protection equipment, to ensure a complimentary and cost effective approach to asset longevity
• Review surface equipment failure database and analyze data with intent to improve equipment reliability
• Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Environmental Health and Safety Department
• Travel and work extended hours on short notice
• Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected
PREREQUISITES
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Requires a minimum of 7 years of related industry experience in production chemical/lease operations
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Practice safe work habits at all times

• Basic computer skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work within a team environment
• Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving mechanical problems
• Position requires operation of Company vehicles. Incumbent must meet requirements of Company Policy
• Must be able to safely and effectively wear Self Contained Breathing equipment and work in an H2S environment
• Production chemical program management, preferred
• Familiarization with SAP or similar enterprise solutions, preferred
• Strong understanding of state and federal regulations pertaining to safe chemical handling, storage and transportation
