The Role
Lincoln National Corporation, Dover, NH, seeks a Senior Analyst, Application Development, to develop and analyze software applications using Java, C#, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Microsoft Stack to provide technology support to the Group Protection IT department (GPIT) as a member of the GPIT Underwriting team. Analyze existing applications, assess their current state, provide feedback, and deliver new applications and features. Design, architect, develop, build, and deploy technical solutions that meet performance, security, and resiliency standards across distributed multi-tier web applications that may include micro-services and vendor integrations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that software systems and applications are designed, developed, and implemented in accordance with the business perspective. Create complex technical specifications for software development processes. Analyze, design, code, debug, integrate, and test complex application solutions using a combination of technical tools and languages, including Java, C#, Spring Boot, Angular, Microservices and the Microsoft Stack. Identify potential software application solutions by understanding complex business and technical problems and opportunities. Identify and direct the implementation process improvements to significantly improve quality. Provide input on the development of project, test, and implementation plans for software solutions, including determining estimates on time frames, needed resources, and budgets. Investigate and resolve complex technical problems, including providing support for production systems. Use Agile development methodology and Microservices integration methodology to maintain and enhance integration with other, non-Underwriting, applications and services. Use SQL Server and HP Exstream to maintain and enhance systems that produce contracts for new and existing customers. Use .NET software framework to maintain and enhance systems that enable Underwriters to rate and quote products for new and existing customers. Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments for assigned areas of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborate with senior management to incorporate the new trends and developments into current and future software solutions. Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by providing recommendations and supporting change management and enterprise initiatives within assigned areas of responsibility.
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or closely related technical field. Experience must include: 5 Years: Designing, architecting, developing, building, and deploying technical solutions using Java, C#, Spring Boot, and Microservices across distributed multi-tier web applications; 3 Years: Using Agile development methodology and Microservices integration methodology to maintain and enhance technology integration; 3 Years: Using SQL Server, HP Exstream, and .NET software framework to maintain and enhance software systems.
