POSITION SUMMARY

 

At Hess, we are developing our Supply Chain organization, processes, and systems to consistently deliver improved business value.  The Functional Delivery team supports standardization, integration and optimization of our supply chain operations including people, processes and systems that can help the supply chain function attain and sustain excellence in performance and value generation.

Our current landscape of systems and performance measurements will need to continue to mature to meet the dynamic needs of our business.  We currently have a vacancy for a Houston-based role of Sr. Specialist, Supply Chain Systems & Performance. 

This role serves as the key business contact within Supply Chain for data and systems.  The candidate will have a passion for data and systems, and a skilled understanding of the key role that those foundational enablers have in ensuring successful delivery and finding meaningful opportunities for improvement.  The Sr. Specialist will have accountability for managing the holistic portfolio view of our portfolio of supply chain systems and related activities, to ensure we have a clear roadmap and resource plan. They will also manage the processes and resources responsible for developing and delivering relevant metrics and dashboards and will be responsible for project management of systems-related changes to ensure successful business implementation, communication and embedment.

 

This work involves multiple touch points and requires hands-on work in conjunction with the Supply Chain Process Improvement Leaders, Supply Chain Business/Asset leaders, the IT organization, and key customers, to produce high quality results.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage specific functional or cross-functional projects and system implementations, ensuring successful long-term achievement of deliverables.

Develop and implement holistic project plans, complementing IT/technical steps with business process development, change management, training, and performance management

Oversee and manage the Supply Chain performance management strategy and tool sets.

Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business decisions.
Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc.

Manage the holistic view of supply chain technology and activities

Contribute to the Supply Chain Future State Map and multi-year Journey plan with regards to systems, processes, analytics, and performance tools.
Contribute to the design of a fit-for-purpose technology strategy that governs end-to-end supply chain processes from planning through category management, quality, procurement, materials management, logistics, accounts payable, and performance management.
Coordinate analysis, gap identification, and remediation program management to ensure optimal system and process performance.

Network internally and externally.  Build relationships and contacts across process owners and externally with thought leaders in the space of supply chain operating and performance systems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Qualifications:

10 + years’ experience in operational or functional roles with a focus on project delivery and performance management
Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes and projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of supply chain technology solutions and their enablement of leading supply chain processes, including: Ariba, SAP, Open Invoice, etc.
Depth of knowledge in performance management, metrics, and measurement tool sets
Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
Credible and respected resource with the ability to interact effectively with all levels, widely across the organization
Cross functional knowledge of other business processes (Finance, Operations, Planning, IT, etc.) and their impacts both up and downstream of supply chain
Change management experience in driving long term sustainable system solutions and resulting process improvement.
Strong understanding and practitioner of Lean and continuous improvement
Strong written and oral interpersonal and communication skills are required, with a bias for action.

 

Education, Training & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in either Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Quality Systems, Supply Chain is required; advanced degree and/or MBA is strongly preferred
