Role and Scope of Position:
As the Supervisor, Electric System Control Center Operations, you will coordinate and supervise activities associated with minute to minute operation of the Local Control Center transmission, distribution and generating facilities, with emphasis on system security and reliability. Other responsibilities include: performing computer studies to analyze system conditions and recommend appropriate responses, including use of emergency operating procedures as necessary to maintain system reliability; evaluate system disturbances and clearance reports for proper operations of system facilities; and provide supervision in matters concerning the operation of the Local Control Center bulk power supply system.
Essential Functions:
Directly and indirectly supervises a team of System Operators
Represents Eversource Transmission at meetings for coordination of day-to-day operations and outages.
Verifies the consistent application of NERC reliability standards, NPCC Criteria, ISO-NE and Eversource operating procedures and instructions related to transmission dispatch.
Periodically reviews the application of switching and tagging rules.
Effectively allocates workload among off-shift System Operators
Reviews Eversource System Operating Procedures (ESOP), Operating Instructions (OI), Procedures and Guidelines, and all proposed EMS changes which directly affect system operations or monitoring.
Monitors the conduct and progress of new staff members and on the job training
Approves training materials prepared by Eversource Operations Training group.
Subject matter expert in providing operational/guidance to Operations support groups.
Provides guidance to System Operators in the resolution of system operating issues including personnel and equipment safety, reliability, adherence to operating requirements, and congestion management.
Provides input to management for the development of operating policies and procedures.
Assists as required by management in the coordination of response to system emergencies including hosting conference calls for Capacity Deficiency, load restoration and storm warnings.
Prepares reports of significant events or issues, as requested by management.
Reviews and monitors for proper completion of daily logs, disturbance reports and switching forms associated with control room operations.
Participates in emergency response and disaster recovery plans.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Thorough knowledge in the following:
Grounding and associated switching and tagging procedures
Bulk power system operation
Various components that comprise the bulk power system
PC based computer applications used to monitor, record, analyze and report system operations information
Ability to communicate and work effectively with personnel at various levels within ISO-NE, the ISO-NE satellites, member companies and neighboring companies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
Experience:
Five (5) to ten (10) years of related experience
Including two years of Transmission Operations experience preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
Required to obtain and maintain a NERC Transmission Operator Certificate and comply with FERC, NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE and Local Control Center and state and regulatory requirements
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
