Crown’s Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. This is an exciting time for the Crown Massillon Plant as we are undergoing significant growth and investment in our people and manufacturing capabilities. Our plant makes both food cans and lids ("ends") across 40+ manufacturing lines.

Position Overview:

The Human Resources Supervisor will support the Human Resources activities at the Plant to ensure the facility meets all state, local and federal requirements while complying with Crown policies and procedures.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Supervisor responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:   

Provides employee relations support for all employees at the plant
Coordinates employee communications and meetings to keep employees informed
Assists with employee relations issues which include but are not be limited to; resolving conflicts, implementing disciplinary procedures, developing and rolling out improvement plans, investigating and resolving harassment claims and implementing required employee actions
Documents all appropriate investigations and maintains proper files at the plant
Interacts with employees on the shop floor on all shifts and responds to employee issues/concerns in support of a positive employee relations’ environment
Oversees the hourly performance management and pay increase processes
Coordinates that talent acquisition process for salaried and hourly positions. This includes sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, background screening and reference checks
Facilitates the orientation/onboarding process for all employees
Plans and coordinates employee events and activities
Coordinates employee’s medical coverage with Corporate Insurance
Coordinates FMLA, Workers Comp and other related leave issues of absence
Oversees the HRIS system administration including payroll issues, employee data input, daily attendance, and other related areas
Maintains employee files and records
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Business or a related discipline
5+ years of work experience in Human Resources
Working knowledge of all local, state, and federal laws and regulations

Preferred Requirements:

5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
Professional certification through SHRM and/or HRCI
