Job Description

Job Summary

The Operator B is responsible to ensure all process systems are operated within design capabilities and in compliance of applicable regulations, and monitor operation parameters to maximize production quality adjusting where necessary. Reports unusual conditions to immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities                                                                                             

Performs all duties necessary to initiate and maintain prescribed production levels from lease oil and gas wells by employing industry-approved practices and procedures
Understands the working design and operation of wellhead and associated well site components such as Christmas trees, surface and subsurface safety valves, gas lift regulation equipment, wellhead and line chokes, the operation of surface safety instruments, surface valves, piping components, calibrate and operate Automated Adjustable Stepping Chokes, monitor Top Tension Riser System. Inspect Service umbilicals and Coflexip flowline. Maintain and service Buoyancy Air Can Wear guide bushing. Monitor Air Can pressures
Performs basic well testing in accordance with current industry practices and regulations, and obtains required measurement values of oil, gas, and water produced by an individual well stream
Understands the basic design principles and operation of surface production process equipment such as the inlet manifold, liquid and gas separation equipment, emulsion treating equipment, produced water treating equipment, sand detection equipment, understand and operate Waste Heat Recovery Unit System, monitors and performs necessary repairs to downhole chemical skid ( Methanol Paraffin and Asphaltene injection) to NAS Standards, calibrates Chemical Injection Flow Transmitters, maintains well flow assurance measures set by Chemical Program Guide
As necessary, adjust operation levels and rates on the above equipment, and performs basic troubleshooting procedures to obtain maximum efficiency and provide proper maintenance. Understand and operates Delta-V Process Control System and safety system
 Assist in performance of routine maintenance on other facility equipment such as pipeline pumps, gas compressors, engine generators, compressed air supply systems, platform drainage and sumps system, marine sanitation units, fresh water supply, and diesel fuel systems. Performs weekly testing of DI Water Quality for the Waste Heat Recovery System, weekly testing of Cooling Water Quality for Cooling Water System, monitors VRU Compressor and Monitor and service the water makers
Obtains measurements and calculates sales volume of oil and gas produced from the platform and associated system volumes for fuel supply, and flare utilizing orifice meters, turbines meters, or positive displacement meters for liquid or gas
Obtains and determines qualitative measurements of liquids and gas such as BS& W content, gravity determination, temperature, salinity, dew point, PH values, residual chlorine, and grease determinations
Know current regulatory requirements, practices, and procedures as they relate to the production, measurement, and sale of produced products and the operation of those devices to permit the safe operation and elimination of pollution. Know current USCG regulatory and ABS requirements, practices, and procedures as they relate to floating facility
Maintains all lease records necessary for production accounting, regulatory compliance, personnel safety, equipment maintenance, and material movements
Requisitions supplies as necessary and monitors inventory of material on hand
Monitors, records, and witness’s custody transfer and meter proving of hydrocarbons to insure owners receive proper credit
Performs the following when required:

May assists in the supervision of construction and repair projects performed by subcontractors
May operate Lifeboats and Rescue Craft
Communicates closely with Rig Deck Forman to maintain Weight Management
May maintain Weight Management System daily for Spar Stability
May operate Ballast System as needed to maintain operating draft
May operate Zenetech Mooring Advisory System to relocate Spar
May performs weekly Hull Inspections and Leak Test for all Void Tanks

Trains personnel under his direct supervision using the guidelines established in the OJT manuals
Reports all accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor
Performs any other job-related duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Licenses/ Certifications

All required Company and regulatory valid certifications
Lifeboat, Water Survival\HUET, First Aid\CPR and Rigging

Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience working on a Deepwater offshore production facility
Proficient in the use of computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are required
Must have demonstrated the leadership qualities conducive to a team environment
Good understanding of production operations to include but not limited to the following:

Wells, Separation,
Gas Dehydration and Conditioning
Produced Water Treatment systems
Gas Compression
Chemical Injection
Methanol and Water wash
Gas Lift Systems, Oil and Gas Measurement
Electrical Power Generation
Emergency Power Generators
AC & DC electrical power distribution and protection
Compressed Air, Potable Water, Chemical storage, and distribution
HVAC, Telecommunications, and information systems
Marine interface including meteorological monitoring, mooring system, hull and ballast systems, navigation aids, transport interface including helideck, laydown and bulk transfer facilities, oil and gas metering systems, gas and oil allocation and export, flash gas, fuel gas and associated samplers and analyzers
Pig launchers and receivers, flight fuel conditioning and transport including methanol, diesel and aviation fuels, flaring, venting and drainage, firefighting and fire suppression systems, lifeboats, and lifesaving equipment.

Must be familiar with ABS, OHSA, EPA and USCG regulations applicable to production operations
Experience in supervising contract personnel
Ability to work a 14/14 schedule, minimum 12-hour day
Any individual hired for this position will be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination before beginning work.  Individuals who are unable to satisfy this requirement will be referred to Murphy’s exemption process.
