Job Description

The primary responsibilities of this role, Gene Expression Post Doc Scientist, are to: 

Utilize new technologies and tissue culture systems to discover, test, and validate cell-specific novel features that contribute to predictable and robust transgene expression at a given genomic location in crops;
Utilize plant single cell and tissue culture systems for high-throughput genome-wide testing and learning about transgene expression;
Apply analytic and statistical methods to results;
Collaborate with fellow research scientists, data scientists, bioinformaticians, and mathematicians on prediction methods;
Validate discoveries from cell-based systems to test in stable plant transformation systems: test and validate;
Provide written reports of results and methods and present results to broad Research and Development (R&D) research partners;
Train and work alongside fellow post-docs and employees in a team that spans Crop Science and Pharmaceuticals divisions in both the USA and Europe;
Demonstrate commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. (defended by 12/15/21) in molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, or similar, with an excellent track record of productivity;
Demonstrated record of innovation in research;
Strong cell and molecular biology acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data;
Previous hands-on experience with gene expression and genome-wide datasets;
Track record of working independently as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, capacity for analytical thinking and creativity, as well as enthusiasm for hands-on bench work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Gene expression experience using single cell technologies, genome-wide transcriptomics, and/or epigenetic data;
Experience with plant tissue culture methods;
Experience with high throughput screens utilizing laboratory automation.

Domestic relocation may be available for this role.
