Job Description
Summary:
Cuts and trims meats to size for display.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Cuts, trims, and bones & meat according to company standards.
- Operates electric grinder/saw/knife sharpener/tenderizer/slicer.
- Wraps meat; prices and labels for sale.
- Provides excellent customer service by answering product-related questions, helping customers
make meat/seafood selections.
- Rotates product in meat cooler and ensures proper storage practices.
- Generate production list and track 're-works'.
- Keeps total department clean and sanitary.
- Assists customers with product questions.
- Operates in compliance with federal and state fresh meat regulations.
- Performs other cross-functional Market duties as needed.
- Participate with a total store mindset.
- Cross-functional duties in other areas may be assigned. Joe Vs Smart Shop Partners are trained to do at least two jobs within the store.
Education and Experience preferred:
- Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle cross functional tasks
- Basic communication skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Lift moderate to heavy loads, bend, push and pull, kneel, squat and stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must successfully complete required job skills and compliance-related training.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- This is a fast-paced work environment that includes handling multiple tasks.
- The work environment will include shifting priorities and assignments in various areas of the store throughout a shift
- The environment also includes working with Customers and being attentive to their needs
