Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Domain area-focused Architect responsible for defining solutions that align to Enterprise strategies and standards. Collaborates closely with IT Teams to ensure designs reflect the intended solutions. Bridges Stakeholder expectations with IT execution in order to meet desired outcomes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for portfolio high level designs and architecture including designing architecture back to the Enterprise Reference Architecture
Responsible for developing and executing against solution strategies and business plans that support business expansion
Focuses on integrating various parts of a solution into one cohesive network that solves a larger technical problem
Oversees complex technical lifecycles from inception, requirements analysis, design, to fluid implementation phases
Owns getting buy in and consensus from Infrastructure and software teams on approach/concept diagrams
Ability to negotiate approach/scope of projects and vendor contracts
Coordinates task and objectives with internal and external resources
Accountable for detailed solution designs developed by Tech Leads
Ensures use of repositories for deliverables, methodologies and business development documentation
Consulted on Business Area roadmap and responsible for aligning application/technology roadmap to address business needs
Responsible for Enterprise Architecture compliance at the portfolio architecture level
Tracks and manages component interdependencies
Consulted for input on T-Shirt sizing of initiatives
Engages with non-SWA Teams
Identify holes in enterprise/portfolio architectures/stacks and works through enterprise architects to resolve
Mentors/coaches Tech Leads
Provides friendly service to and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external Customers
Works in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our Company

EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience - in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience or formal training

 

EXPERIENCE

Required: 10+ years experience implementing multiple business intelligence solutions including data warehousing, visualization tools and dashboards, ETL (extract/transform/load) efforts, etc.
Required: 10+ years experience in integrating data using various integration methodologies (file/real-time/streaming/etc.)

Preferred Experience

 

Experience in leading technical resources through solution designs and implementations
Strong data strategy expertise
Strong ability to partner with both Business and Technology individuals at all levels of the Organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Data Movement Tools – Ab Initio, AWS Glue, Alteryx, etc.

Data Science skills – R, SageMaker, etc.
Security processes/methods – OAUTH, TLS, etc. 
AWS expertise
Hybrid On-Prem <-> Cloud integration experience
Streaming (Kafka/Kinesis) experience
Data Lake experience (AWS S3, AWS Lake Formation

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting 50 lbs, standing, sitting, pulling, pushing, squatting, hearing, climbing, walking, kneeling, reaching, crawling, writing, and speaking

Five percent travel, with the potential for increased / decreased travel based upon Technology Department needs
This position will be part of a cross-functional team between the Business, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Operations and Business Transformation Services
Project teams this position will engage with vary from small to large depending on the effort
Key project is the continued support and development of our Enterprise Data & Analytics environment
Position will interface with SWA employees, contractors and professional services organizations
