Job Description

This position will perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on specified pipeline assets and assist in other areas of pipeline operations depending upon experience level.

Responsibilities:

Assist in routine and non-routine maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning of station, pipeline, and terminal facilities.
Clean and maintain pipeline right-of-ways.
Assist in pipeline repairs including ILI verification digs, pipeline change outs, re-coats, etc.
Assists with DOT required inspections.
Work to ensure Plains safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
Assist in 24/7 Emergency Response.
Assist in pipeline construction and maintenance.
Act as relief for Station Operators as requested.
Locate and mark pipelines with locator and respond to “one call” system.
Assists with any other pipeline related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years petroleum industry experience is preferred.
Ability to speak read and write English.
Must have mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of basic hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps and drawings.
Basic computer skills:  Excel, Microsoft Office, Word, etc.
Ability to successfully complete company Haz-Mat training, required DOT operator qualifications to perform pipeline mechanical operations and mandatory safety training.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Ability to work in moderate to heavy physically demanding working conditions, including working outdoors in an open environment with extremes of heat and cold.
Must have an outstanding safety record.
Ability to work in team environment.

The Transportation segment engages in the transportation of crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs) on pipelines, gathering systems, trucks, and barges. The Facilities segment is involved in the provision of storage, terminalling, and throughput services primarily for crude oil, NGLs, and natural gas; NGL fractionation and isomerization services; and natural gas and condensate processing services.

This segment owned and operated approximately 77 million barrels of crude oil storage capacity; 32 million barrels of NGL storage capacity; 63 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity; 25 billion cubic feet of base gas; 7 natural gas processing plants; a condensate processing facility; 8 fractionation plants; 33 crude oil and NGL rail terminals; 5 marine facilities; and 425 miles of pipelines. The Supply and Logistics segment engages in merchant-related activities, including purchase of crude oil, as well as NGL from producers, refiners, processors, and other marketers; storage of NGL and natural gas; and resale and transport of crude oil and NGL.

It owned 15 million barrels of crude oil and NGL linefill; 4 million barrels of crude oil and NGL linefill in pipelines owned by third parties and other inventory; 750 trucks and 900 trailers; and 9,100 crude oil and NGL railcars. The company offers logistics services, principally for crude oil, NGLs, and natural gas. PAA GP Holdings LLC operates as a general partner of the company.
