Job Description
Prudential Financial is seeking a highly-motivated Director of Sustainability. The Sustainability function reports, advocates and implements Prudential Financials’ environmental, social and governance communications. Reporting into the Corporate Governance group, the Sustainability team creates integrated external and internal communications around long-term value creation, including writing the company's annual Sustainability Report, owning the company’s global environmental commitment, and climate change strategy. The individual will assist with environmental and climate change initiatives and strategic projects as part of the governance team and will report to the VP of Sustainability.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Leverage insights from evolving Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards to evaluate Prudential’s sustainability and climate strategy performance using tools including Bloomberg, ESG databases and web-based research
Partner with the internal subject matter expert network to manage our CDP (formerly the Climate Disclosure Project) Climate Change and Supply Chain surveys
Work collaboratively fielding inquiries from cross-functional colleagues including investor relations, Chief Investment Office, domestic and international businesses regarding ESG questions
Analysis of internal programs and initiatives to decide what should be reported in the annual corporate sustainability report
Track global ESG-related trends and regulatory requirements, including the ESG ratings and rankings ecosystem
Draft portions of the corporate sustainability report under the direction of the VP
Serves as company-wide liaison with company-wide Green Teams and organizing Earth Day Event in coordination with the Green Teams
Oversees the data collection process for global environmental commitment to provide to external consultant
Develop presentations of sustainability initiatives for senior leaders synthesizing research conducted from benchmarking
Researching topics, organizing and executing sustainability focused enterprise-wide Lunch and Learn sessions
