Job Description

Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThe ETL Test Specialist should have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in performing data analysis and data profiling. You should also have hands on experience in working with at least one of the ETL tools like informatica, QuerySurge, DataStage. You should be able to work closely with a team of technical and non-technical staff and consultants to garner feedback on testing deliverables and provide feedback for other team member deliverables. Participate and contribute to planning sessions by providing testing estimates, report status to management on a regular basis. Overall, you should have strong experience in Test Data management, Test Strategy, Test Planning, Execution, Defect Management, and reporting process for ETL Testing.

Candidates must have the ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Successful candidates for these positions will work on-site at the IBM Client Innovation Center in Baton Rouge. The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Baton Rouge center. However, some travel is expected, and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel up to 50% of the time. This is a traditional office position. You must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Louisiana within 30 days of the center permanently reopening. The work location is 100 North Street Baton Rouge, LA 70802. This is not a work from home position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

At least 3 years experience in ETL Testing ( example Abinitio, Informatica or DataStage).
Good knowledge of the ETL tools and processes and understand differences between functional testing vs regression testing.
Write test data scripts, based on ETL mapping artifacts.
Document and write Test scenarios for an ETL process (for an ETL process that loads data from files to MySQL/Nettezza/DB2 databases and vise versa).
Execute data scripts and detailed analysis on the scripts.
Create strategies and test cases for applications that use ETL components
Understand the Source to Target Mapping documentation.
Perform ETL Test validations and Quality checks
Knowledge on basic Database objects and relational data model.
Experienced using SQL queries; Writing basic SQLs to validate record counts, data truncation, invalid datatypes, NULLs, transformation logics and data integrity.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with Abinito or Informatica job execution using CA7 and / or ESP.
Knowledge on automation tool like Ignite, Query Surge or Optim
