The Boeing BDS Communications team is looking for a Starliner Program Execution – Senior Communications Specialist located in Houston, TX or Titusville, FL. This position reports up through NASA, Commercial Space and Satellites.

Position Responsibilities:

Leads the development, periodic review and execution of the Starliner Strategic Communications Plan to ensure Communications resources are focused on activity that will advance the program toward its goals and priorities.

Coordinate with the NASA, Commercial Space and Satellites Communications Manager, program leaders, Boeing business partners and customer counterparts to ensure shared understanding of, and commitment to, the execution of the Starliner Strategic Communications Plan.

Collaborate with Boeing Communications professionals to execute the tactical activities within the Starliner Strategic Communications Plan.

Provide counsel to the Starliner program manager and leadership team on Communications issues, risks and opportunities.

Develop and execute Communications tactics including (but not limited to) creating written and visual content for internal and external platforms, leadership messages and leadership speeches.

Work with local, regional and trade media and other traditional and non-traditional media representatives to pitch stories and advance the Starliner program through earned media coverage aligned with business objectives.

Support Communications management and the Global Media Relations Team in working with Tier 1 and/or national reporters on Starliner-related content.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with NASA PAOs, key supplier PAOs, business partners, employees, campaign vendors and reporters.

In partnership with NASA PAO counterparts, lead and/or significantly contribute to the development and execution of communications plans and crisis communications plans for Starliner missions.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Experience with visual storytelling skills

Experience with Issues management

Experience with Strategic communications planning and execution

Experience delivering results against business objectives

7+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment, with broad experience working with all business levels from individual contributors to executive-level leaders

7+ years of experience creating and implementing strategic communications plans and executing internal, executive and external communications, and across a range of communications channels

2+ years of experience in providing direct Communications counsel to executive-level leaders

2+ years of experience writing communications for senior executives and other leaders

2+ years of experience in basic video production and editing to advance business messages and share business stories

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in brand marketing, communications, marketing, and/or advertising

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
