Chevron’s Employee Assistance and WorkLife Services advisors provide EAP assessments, referrals and counseling for employees and family members in-person and telephonically. Advisors collaborate internally with Chevron’s Health and Medical staff and with mental health providers to determine levels of care and facilitate referrals to in network providers, where appropriate. This position also includes case follow up, mental health disability management, arranging CISD, presenting at workshops and training programs at Chevron. This program provides organizational, behavioral health expertise to management and HR business partners through consultation and training. This position is one of seven EAP WL staff advisors.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Provides in-person whenever possible and telephonic assistance (secondarily) to employees and family members dealing with issues such as workplace stress, family issues, mental health and drug and alcohol issues.
Triages calls as necessary to Beacon Health Options or other health care partners.
Provides counseling referrals and provides certification for appropriate substance abuse treatment
Responds to crisis calls, potential threat of violence cases and critical incident stress debriefings
Provides case management for substance abuse clients and clients off on disability.
Provides case follow-up to clients.
Liaises with Chevron’s dedicated drug and alcohol coordinator, worklife services advisors, disability management coordinators, health and productivity advisors, and occupational medicine/clinic practitioners.
Maintains client case records in the care management database (EMR).
Provides consultative services to management and HR business partners on a variety of behavioral health issues and concerns within the workplace.
Provides resources to business units designed to maximize workplace psychological well-being.
Provides presentations and training programs to Chevron work groups, supervisors and HR business partners on issues such as stress management, change management, resilience, and work/life effectiveness.
Works cross functionally within Chevron’s Health and Medical team, line management, HR business partners, Operational Excellence Champions and Safety Specialists.
Provides on-call coverage for one week (averaging every 6-8 weeks).
Required Qualifications:
Clinical license in psychology, counseling or social work (in the State of Texas/California).
Master’s degree in related field.
3-5 years of employee assistance experience.
Demonstrated experience assessing and treating substance abuse problems.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated technological proficiency, including use of the Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word).

Experience working with unions and represented employees.
Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other functions, departments and business units.
