Maintenance Supervisor - Purina Animal Nutrition

We are immediately hiring a Maintenance Supervisor. 

Position Purpose:

Are you energized by using your mechanical, technical, and leadership skills in a manufacturing environment?  If so, a Maintenance Supervisor in our Purina Animal Milk Replacement Nutrition plant may be a good fit for you!

Your focus would be to provide leadership and direction to the Production Maintenance and Utility Maintenance Teams.  The intent of this position is to ensure the day-to-day operation and reliability of the plant production and utility systems including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance of the plant process equipment and utility support systems.

You will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Direct Reports:

3 Maintenance Technicians

Salary is $78,000 range annually, depending on experience.

Experience-Education (Required):

High school/GED degree.
2+ years industrial maintenance leadership.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

Strong technical aptitude and experience with different computer systems.

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others and work with employees at all levels of the organization.

Maintenance planning and scheduling

Capital projects development and implementation

PLC knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to effectively communicate and problem solve.

Experience-Education (Preferred):

Advanced technical or Bachelors degree 

Experience in managing a unionized workforce.

Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

Have thorough understanding of PLC's and programming, management principles.  Understands maintenance practices, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.                                                                                    

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. Nothing in this job description restricts the management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

Hours: M-F day shift will be standard, but must be able to work extended hours. Weekend and holiday hours may be required based on production’s needs.
