Job Description

Primary Focus Will Include:

Develops and presents lead technical viewpoint on architectural transit segments including rail and bus, in addition to facility building types including tolling structures, parking structures, bus and rail stations, associated maintenance facilities, ancillary buildings, and vent buildings. Ensures HNTB and client processes & systems are used to deliver the design in a standardized manner through design development and construction documentation. Ensures that a technical solution, consistent with the program and client design criteria, is properly developed and code compliant.

Works closely with project team from multiple disciplines (e.g. civil, landscape, structural, MEP & communications) in planning and implementing work processes. Develops and implements internal controls for architectural team members assigned to the project. Monitors and supervises development of contract documents.

Has overall responsibility for coordination with sub-consultants in implementation of quality assurance and quality control checks for the proposed design. Reviews and supervises work of less experienced transit architects. Responsible for working alongside the Project Manager to develop & update project work planning and scheduling related to the architectural discipline.

Serves as a subject matter expert on transit architectural projects of the largest size and complexity.

Assists with the promotion, performance review, work allocation, training and mentoring of current HNTB transit architecture staff.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

15 years of experience with public transit agencies on delivering transit buildings, related facilities, and structural design integration is required

AutoCAD and Revit (BIM) experience are required

Experience with editing architectural specifications is required

Demonstrated technical ability and leadership skills required

Clear communication skills, including presentation skills

Patience and ability to mentor and develop others

Has overall responsibility for coordination with sub-consultants in implementation of quality assurance and quality control checks. Reviews and supervises work of less experienced architects. Responsible for all project work planning and scheduling. May act in a team lead capacity in the absence of the manager.

Serves as subject matter expert on architectural projects of the largest size.

Assists with the promotion, discipline, performance review, work allocation, training and mentoring of staff.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture
