About the Role
We are looking for an individual to help lead our Payments Internal Audit thought leadership. This role is a newly created role to help fill a need. We have an interesting portfolio of work that needs to be built out to meet regulatory requirements as well as keep up with the demands of what we want to do with payments at Uber. We need someone who is capable of building a sustainable and scalable audit strategy, able to work cross-functionally amongst Ops, Compliance, Risk, Engineering and Product to understand the payments operations world, and not afraid to tackle complex challenges.
What You'll Do
Develop risk-based global audit plan for the payments operations for Uber, including separate considerations for licensed payments entity
Oversee project teams executing audits in the areas of the payments function, including end-to-end management of the planning, fieldwork/execution, reporting and remediation validation phase
Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls
Proactively interact and influence the business to resolve problems, and make practical and sustainable recommendations for business and operational improvements and stronger risk management practices
Engage with business leaders and cross-functional partners at all levels in a meaningful manner on business and risk management
Build a network of relationships across the org to develop meaningful insights to share with business leaders and back to IA for continuous improvement of risk profiling
Basic Qualifications
8+ years experience of internal audit or a risk management function in the payments industry or related financial services field, including 3+ years of manager experience
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
A good working knowledge in AML, consumer protection regulations, cybersecurity, payments processing operations across the entire life cycle (set-up/onboarding, collections, settlement, refunds, etc.) and regulatory reporting requirements
CAMS, CIA, CPA, CISA or other relevant professional certification highly desired
Graduate or Master's Degree preferred
Experience in multiple regulatory jurisdictions highly desired, including European banking regulations
Experience using advanced data auditing and analytical skills preferred
Comprehensive understanding of financial services risk management frameworks, money licensing requirements and experience working in fintech or start-up environments
Exceptional executive presence, influencing skills and the ability to discuss complex issues across all levels of the organization
Strong supervisory and time management skills, including experience in managing a staff of diverse professionals
