About the Role

We’re looking for a leader who can be equal parts ‘sleeves up’ and ‘big picture’ strategy to run the People & HR function. You should have a clear perspective on how we should be supporting our people and be excited to have a voice across the organization. This is our first VP of People at Insticator and you will be responsible for leading the People function as we continue to grow our 80+ member team. You should be proactively defining and executing new initiatives to make Insticator and employer of choice for current and future team members.

You’ll work closely with the CEO and members of the Leadership Team as the company’s thought leader on people and culture. You will create a hiring, employee engagement, and retention strategy that supports our rapid growth and the professional growth of our team members. You should be hands on and committed to providing a best-in-class employee experience. You are an experienced leader who has taken investor-funded tech companies through Series A/B/C funding rounds (more than once!) and is looking to take on the exciting challenge of building out a critical function within a fast-paced, high growth organization.

This position is remote and can be based in North America. 


Responsibilities and Duties

Provide strategic HR leadership and consultation the CEO and Leadership Team
Drive talent acquisition for departments. Lead the Recruiting efforts with both in-house and external resources to ensure a conscious, deliberate approach to attracting and retaining top talent from many markets.
Analyze and provide guidance on the current organizational state and future requirements of all business units for both headcount and skillsets. Design and implement solutions to meet these needs.
Lead annual salary, incentive (bonus/commission), and equity planning process with leadership, ensuring highest performers are compensated in line with their business impact and contributions
Manage employee relations situations and provide recommendations to employees and management on employee including but not limited to: promotions, market adjustments, disciplinary actions, terminations, performance management, and merit increases to ensure proper documentation and compliance needs are met.
Enhance the performance management process including talent reviews and training and development initiatives.
Ensure an efficient and thorough onboarding and offboarding process is in place and make adjustments as needed. 
Ensure the company is creating a safe, inclusive work environment and create a framework for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives to succeed.

Qualifications

Professional Competencies

10+ years in an HR capacity
You’ve led People/HR at high growth, product and technology companies that have gone through Series A/B/C funding rounds
You’re comfortable with ‘firing fast and hiring slow’ and have managed periods of scaling up as well as right-sizing the organization
Success in driving recruiting for product-based software companies in remote locations in multiple markets we operate in: US/Canada/Ukraine/India/Philippines
Able to act as a player coach with a small People team
Created and implemented initiatives that build a strong team culture in a remote, global environment
Able to manage benefits across multiple countries and ensure pay and benefits challenges are handled appropriately
Expert coaching new and experienced leadership through complex strategic and operational challenges to achieve desired outcomes for their people
Indexes towards providing candid feedback and openly expressing dissent among senior leadership
Understanding of legal and compliance issues facing global startups and able to make recommendations in ambiguous situations.
Proven track record of designing and following-through on initiatives covering the full spectrum of HR competencies.
