Primary Responsibilities:
Provide design oversight, including review of drawings and engineering specifications and participation in design reviews
Support execution of system and component requirements and compliance assessment review
Support verification testing by reviewing and approving plans, procedures and test reports
Support qualification testing by reviewing 36-pt checklist, similarity/analysis reports, testing configuration and control, test readiness, test plan and report reviews
Support process certification and manufacturing process reviews through control build reviews and other UPPAP activities
Provide communication, as necessary, to Engineering and business unit leadership, customers and suppliers
Participate in the generation and revision of standard work procedures, General Requirements Document and EMID Design Guidelines based on learnings and read-across
Coach and mentor junior engineers by providing them with understanding of products, requirements, IPT process, and supplier management
Participate in investigations using Relentless Root Cause & Corrective action (RRCA) or other ACE / Six Sigma tools as required
Contribute to proposals and provide technical leadership on trade studies and new business opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in engineering with 8 years of experience
Advanced degree in engineering with 5 years of experience
Experience in new product development from component level design to verification and validation
Electrical, mechanical and system design experience
Proficiency in ACE and/or Design for Six Sigma
