What We're Looking For
Within a given discipline, is fully competent to complete engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery with minimal direction. On tasks basis, is responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering efforts that are responsive to project needs. Coordinates preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Provides support for final design review and quality assurance/control
Coordinates design development and assists in providing technical direction
Provides technical expertise in project aspects
Meets with clients and coordinates design developments
Coordinates with sub consultants of the projects and provides direction
Performs calculations and analyses related to foundation design
Supports excavation
Knowledge of settlement estimates and monitoring requirements for soft ground TBM tunnel
Communicates effectively with Sr. Geotechnical/Tunnel leads on the job, other discipline's designers, sub consultants, co-workers and contractors
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on geotechnical engineering from an ABET or equivalent accredited program
PE License
Knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques and laboratory testing procedures.
Working knowledge of geotechnical software preferred (e.g. SHAFT, LPile, APile, FB Pier, GRLWEAP, SlopeW, SeepW).
Understanding and working knowledge of geotechnical aspects of LRFD foundation and wall design methods preferred.
AASHTO, AREMA and FHWA guidelines
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.
Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
