Angeles. The Data and Analytics teams are the backbone of Dish Media Sales. We work with the largest
continuous set-top-box data set in the industry and provide advertisers with a way to deliver addressable
advertising at national scale.
The Senior Research Analyst reports directly to the Advanced TV Analytics Team Lead. The position supports
various divisions within DISH including Media Research, Analytics, Sales and Marketing. Providing reporting
on qualitative and quantitative data; assisting with audience delivery forecasting; providing timely updates of
Research & Marketing materials.
Primary responsibilities:
- Extract and analyze industry data using Nielsen research software applications as well as other syndicated
sources (Ex: Nielsen NPower, Scarborough, etc.)
- Produce reporting of DISH and national viewership trends, including quarterly network and monthly
program rankers.
- Work closely with P&I team to create audience estimates for rate card.
- Utilize available resources including consumer research and competitive intelligence to develop category
decks, Research Quick-Facts & custom presentations.
- Support Sales team with viewership data/ad-hoc requests.
- Work closely with marketing to provide timely updates of core sales materials including viewer profiles and
cross-viewership; provides insights to promote premium programming and live sports.
- Conduct trainings on research applications and platforms as needed.
Skills - Experience and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with mathematics, finance, media, research, marketing or business degree
preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in TV Research, Data Analysis, Media Research, or Market
Research at a TV Network/Station, advertising agency, cable/satellite provider or ad tech company.
- Experience working with audience measurement tools (Nielsen, comScore); syndicated data (GfkMRI,
Simmons, Scarborough).
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Excel, Outlook, and Word). You must be
able to do: Pivot Tables, Excel analysis formulas (IF, VLOOKUP, COUNT, SUMIF, SUMPRODUCT, etc.)
and Formatting Data.
- Knowledge of analytics/forecasting platforms (Lake5 Media) a plus.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Tableau (or similar BI tools) would be ideal.
- Strong analytical skills - ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of data with meticulous
attention to detail and accuracy, and transform into meaningful, actionable information.
