Job Description
At Celanese, Shift Supervisors/Production Supervisors are referred to as Team Captains because their primary responsibility is effectively leading their teams including leading the stewardship culture for the shift.
Responsibilities:
Providing guidance and setting priorities to meet or exceed production schedule while achieving:
No harm to employees or environment
100% Quality
100% Reliability
Short and mid-term resource planning accounting for resources needed per production schedule
Decision-making related to shift; setting priorities for shift
Developing team members regarding their key abilities and attributes
Gathering feedback from team members, compiling the information, reporting information in a meaningful way and incorporating feedback into initiatives.
Providing timely and meaningful performance feedback to team members
Identifying when training is needed/required for team members and ensure opportunities are available for team members to obtain knowledge
Communicating safety learnings to team
Conducting behavior-based safety observations and life critical audits
Escalating any stewardship gaps
Conducting line walk throughs including identifying emerging safety issues
Performing proper handover to next Team Captain
Effectively communicating to all levels and teams at site
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Some college or technical school a plus
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience
SAP experience preferred including time review and approval experience
Strong leadership and People skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products especially Excel is preferred
Willingness to work 2nd shift and every third weekend
Demonstrated high level of performance in areas such as:
