Job Objectives:
Executes the implementation, maintenance, and support of hardware, software and systems necessary to support the production, transportation, and marketing of hydrocarbons. Works closely with other IT service teams to collaborate on IT function objectives
Essential Job Responsibilities:
60% – Delivery & Execution:
Performs design, configuration, implementation, support, troubleshooting, maintenance, performance monitoring and the development of specialized procedures relating to the use of the corporate cloud computing environment
Contributes to field and corporate roll-outs of technology, leveraging Hilcorp IT project management best practices
Contributes to the stand up of necessary system software, hardware, and equipment (physical or virtual) to meet changing infrastructure needs
Creates and optimizes specifications for complex technology solutions
Enables faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights
Maintains reliability, performance, recoverability, and security of the corporate on-premise & cloud systems environments
20% – Support & Enablement:
Receives and prioritizes escalations and incoming requests from product teams and stakeholders
Guides the production of in-house documentation around solutions
Monitors tools and proactively helps teams struggling with systems issues
Technical support experience with the following technologies:
Edge and remote compute management
Solution virtualization & containerization
Hybrid Infrastructure monitoring & alerting
Infrastructure-as-code deployment & support
10% – Strategy & Planning:
Ensures the functional, cost effective, and timely support of enterprise systems on a 24/7 basis
Researches and implements new open-source and commercial tools, technologies, and methodologies
Gains a thorough understanding of infrastructure needs and guides teams to design infrastructure platforms that meet end user requirements
Assess need for any system reconfigurations based on architectural best practices
Participate in planning & estimation of project efforts
10% – People:
Fosters collaboration with team members to drive value, and identify and resolve impediments
Advocates for the end user and stakeholder by becoming associated with the product, empathizing with and understanding user needs
Guides more junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks
Participates in and contributes to learning activities around systems administration core practices
Additional:
Assists the IT Systems Administration Manager in development of standard operating procedures.

Other Job Responsibilities:
Travel: Requires travel to Hilcorp Energy hub and field sites up to 10% of the time.
Analyzes Helpdesk statistics to recommend long-term actions to decrease incidents or reduce resolution time (i.e. recommending training, changing manufacturers to increase meantime between failures, etc.)
Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
Communicates effectively (written/verbal) with technical and non-technical audiences, possesses strong interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, and is innovative in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
10+ years supporting enterprise level IT Infrastructure environments
Expertise in creating, analyzing, and repairing large-scale distributed systems
Expertise in systems infrastructure and architecture, including:
Windows, Storage, Linux, & AWS support experience at enterprise scale
Webservers, application servers, database servers, API management gateways, single-sign-on software, identity management software, ETL software, collaboration software, etc.
Strong problem solving and communication skills required
Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment
Education Requirements:
Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science or a related field, preferably supplemented by course work in management.
Alternative: An equivalent combination of 10+ years experience, education, and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Preferred: Certifications in some combination of ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, (ISC), PMI
Alternative: Commensurate experience in supporting related technologies.
