Core Responsibilities Financial Close and Controls (60%):
- Assist Corporate Accounting management with coordination and support of month end close process
- Ensure adequate and complete review and approval of journal entries and reconciliations prepared by Corporate Accounting team, including but not limited to fixed assets, international, royalties, wholesale revenue, and intercompany
- Manage intercompany process; review of monthly journal entries, intercompany balancing, and reconciliations for both domestic and international entities
- Review and posting of monthly revaluation entries for international entities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for wholesale business and participate in quarterly meetings with Leadership Team
- Manage and review monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables as assigned, including capital expenditures, FX, and royalty
- Ensure GAAP and SOX compliance within Corporate Accounting
- Review analysis of P&L and balance sheet variances; review cost center reporting for assigned areas
- Help to develop and establish best accounting practices across international locations
- Support the expansion to new international legal entities or contracts (legal entity support to tax team and local finance team support, as needed)
- Manage, develop, and mentor direct reports; provide guidance and training to staff as needed
Fixed Assets Processing and Reporting - 30%
- Manage Major Expenditure Approval ("MEA") process
- Apply fixed asset accounting policy and U.S. GAAP, including capital or expense treatment, evaluation of useful lives; and review of disposals/sales/transfers
Other - 10%
- Assist with requests and inquiries from internal and external audit
- Manage requests from External Reporting to support SEC filings
- Support Tax Department with regulatory reporting and tax audits
SUPERVISORY / BUDGETARY / EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY
- Direct management of Accountant(s)
- Participate in cross functional project teams as needed
Experience and Skills
Strong interpersonal and communications skills - ability to interface well with all levels of management across various functions
Excellent analytical skills with proven ability to apply critical thinking skills; detail oriented
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial reporting packages (SAP)
Knowledgeable in U.S. GAAP
Ability to manage change (people, process, & technology); ability to multi-task
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required; Masters degree or CPA license preferred
Minimum of 6 years corporate reporting experience in a multinational company
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
Experience working with SAP or similar equivalent software
Experience with Hyperion or similar tool is a plus
