Job Description

Involved in strategic and tactical engineering and architectural activities of a team or car on an Agile Release Train (ART), with primary involvement and focus on engineering.  Develops knowledge of multiple technologies and emerging technologies to support strategic initiatives. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Use models as a starting point for designing and developing technologies that enable new or enhance existing business capabilities that will include data mart/universe buildout and configuration
Supports business data experts on select data repositories and provides support for project implementations and modifications impacting data repositories, Evaluate options; performs tradeoff and cost benefit analyses
Emphasize the use of a disciplined process when creating and implementing designs and operates effectively as part of a team in doing so
Create and reuse designs and design artifacts
Use patterns and frameworks to develop, support and solve problems for enterprise level applications supported by a team
Experiment at a team level with emerging technologies to understand how they will impact what comes next
Translate business/user requirements into technical requirements, and applies creative problem solving that bring these requirements to fruition for a team

ABOUT YOU:

Experienced with production data pipeline development, automation, and implementation.
3 or more years of experience developing reports, researching, analyzing and problem-solving using end-user tools such as Microsoft Access/VBA, SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise, Crystal Reports, SSRS, and Teradata Studio
1 or more years’ experience working in position requiring data analytics
3 or more years’ experience in coding or query development
Familiarity with Snowflake and/or common analytic data warehousing patterns
Production implemented data engineering experience
Strong, demonstrated experience in writing efficient SQL queries and relatable tables and providing support for existing (maintaining/reviewing/enhancing)
Has experience collaborating with numerous enterprise partners aligned to data science, architecture, governance, infrastructure, and security to apply standards and optimize production environments and practices
Ability to work with large data sets and interpret/analyze data
Collaborates with business owners to optimize data collection, storage and usage to maximize the value of information within supported systems
Implements data pipelines, data sourcing, cleansing, augmentation and quality control processes within supported data systems

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

AWS Data Lake, AWS streaming data and Data Vault architectural experience is a plus
Knowledge of the following databases: Teradata, SQL Server, DB2, UDB, and Oracle
Strong experience in analyzing data systems for grain, relationship, context, and impact to connected systems, to develop optimal pipelines that meet functional business requirements.
Strong experience developing and documenting technology recommendations, vendor assessments, and designing complex data system interdependencies
This is an IS Application Support team that provides RTO/SLA of 24x7x365. There may be times where afterhours and weekend support is necessary.
