About the Role

The GI&SM team responds to government inquiries and investigations on behalf of the company.

What You'll Do:

Assist in developing strategy for a diverse range of regulatory and government investigations and related litigation in numerous jurisdictions globally, covering a multitude of substantive areas (securities, competition, privacy, corruption, and other general business practices) on behalf of Uber's Delivery business
Work cross-functionally with other legal teams and with the business to ensure goal and strategy alignment
Work together with senior team members to efficiently resolve investigations and enforcement actions
Take a hands-on approach to all facets of government investigations, including responding to subpoenas and discovery requests from regulators; leading document preservation efforts; analyzing and formulating investigative plans; drafting and revising legal briefs; interviewing and preparing witnesses for testimony; and negotiating and drafting settlements
Support and manage outside counsel relationships
Support and manage enforcement actions deriving from regulatory and government investigations (both civil and criminal), as required
Identify, review, analyze and mitigate legal risks

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience in broad trial, litigation, and government investigations experience (criminal and civil)
Prior government investigations experience in the private practice setting and/or at a government agency
Substantive knowledge of privacy, securities, competition, anti-corruption, and unfair business laws
Familiarity with e-discovery issues, including document retention policies and procedures as well as collection, review, and production of documents
Highly motivated, efficient, organized, and laser-focused on the details
Excellent legal/business judgment
Exceptional writing and advocacy skills
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization
Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment
