Responsibilities and Duties
Build problem-solving frameworks to break down and structure complex issues; synthesize analysis into key trends, implications, and/or actionable recommendations
Prepare presentations for senior management and Board of Directors: examples could include (but not limited to): competitive and market analysis, financial & operational internal data analysis, qualitative analysis based on interviews and desk research
Evaluate the performance of current business operations and recommend strategies and tactics to achieve business goals
Work collaboratively with business unit partners and corporate support teams to drive enterprise strategy execution; Partner on strategy-related projects with Finance, Corporate Development, and Data Science and Research teams
Support and/or lead elements of the annual / quarterly strategic planning process including linking the annual budgeting process with the long range strategic planning process
Communicate recommendations supported by a compelling storyline to stakeholders to ensure impact; build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making with senior audiences
Maintain structured knowledge databases of strategic, industry, and competitor information
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business or other related field
Basic relevant experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, corporate development or another related field (2-3 years)
Experience in a product or operations role in a scaled online business
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; ability to see the “big picture” and understand key dynamics of a business/industry while maintaining good attention-to-detail
Strong understanding of strategic, business, and financial concepts, tools, and frameworks; comfort with corporate finance and accounting principals
Strong experience within strategic projects and topics, including hypothesis development, financial and business modeling (Excel proficient), option identification, consensus building and implementation
Successful project management experience in facilitating cross-functional, complex projects in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple project deadlines and priorities
Ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to present insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner and influence stakeholders at mid to senior levels of the organization
Expertise in technology, ideally in travel, e-commerce, retail, payments, and/or consumer-facing products is desirable
Knowledge of SQL and other data gathering and analysis techniques is a plus
Fluency in languages other than English is a plus
