OBJECTIVES:
This role provides management andtechnical oversight ofIS/IT services and systems deployed in support of Takeda VaccinesDiscovery andPreclinical researchoperations.
Work closely withScientists,Discovery/Preclinicalleadership, and the IT organization todevelop the Lab Informatics, Research and CMCC Informatics services, includingDigital/Data Analytics, Visualization,Process Automation (RPA, Pipeline Pilot)and Products such as ELN and LIMS.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
SupportstheVaccinesDiscovery,Analytical Development, Process Development, and Formulations Development departments
WorkwithScientistsand scientific leadership to assesscurrent state of informaticsenvironmentanddevelop a roadmap of solutions to meet needs.
Proactively partner with internal stakeholders across R&D labs to understand needs.Leadsubject matter expertsthroughthe selection, implementation, and support of software systems.
Agile delivery of new and improved lab and research informatics capabilities atTakeda Vaccines, leading a team of cross functional stakeholders and managing vendor activities as necessary.
Manage a feature request intake process that prioritizes feature requests based on businessneed and value, complexity, and effort utilizing toolssuch asJira, Confluence,and Aha.
Establish and maintain strong relationships withvendorsproviding software, service, and support ofProducts.
Execute on Product roadmaps per release schedule, leveraging Takeda partnerresources
Assume ownership of existingProduct KPI dashboards-ensure establishment, collection, and reporting of Product Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Working withQuality Assurance, use risk-based approaches to assess compliance impacts and buildqualityinto systemsimplementation and change control activities.
Manage support ofvarious software platforms including, but not limited to:
ElectronicLab Notebooks
Lab Information Management Systems (Inventory Management, Request Workflow)
Automation tools (RPA, Pipeline Pilot)
Analytics and Visualization(PowerBI, Tableau, R Shiny)
Bioprocess Management Systems
Data Management and Archival (AWS)
Provides input into project budgets and reporting within own area.
Followscompany and departmental policies,proceduresand ensures documentationaccordingto the TakedaQuality Management Systems (QMS), Software Development Life Cycle and Project Life Cyclestandards.
Establishesgood workingrelationships with colleagueswithin theGlobal IS/IT Organization.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree and5+years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree and3+ years relevant experience within thePharmaceuticalindustry supporting early research or pre-clinicalgroups.
Business Analyst and/orAgile deliveryexperience (Product Manager, Technical Lead).
Hands on experience with laboratory software systems(LIMS, ELN,etc.)and knowledge oftypicalcapabilities needed(raw data management,registration, inventory management,datavisualization and analytics/reporting, sample and inventory management)
Development experience with Tableau and/or PowerBI visualization tools
Embraces Design Thinking, LeanStartupapproaches, and Agile principles. Expert on Agile scrum delivery, experience coaching team members, familiar with toolsets such as Jira, Confluence, Jira Alignor Aha.
Experience designing, deployingand maintaining cloud-basedapplications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills –within IT as well as with scientists.
Ability to be self-directed and work independently within the framework of the IT and cross-functional scientific organization.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, business acumen with analytical andproblemsolvingskills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize among competing demands.
Preferred:
Familiarity with regulated systemsand Software Development Lifecycle for both Non-GxP andGxPsystems.
Experience working in an international environment.
