Job Description

DISH Technologies is seeking an Engineering Program Mgr. to work with Systems Engineering in support of Data Analysis and Channel Launch activities for DISH Network.  The Channel Launch Team is responsible for the timely implementation of changes in the DISH channel offerings.  This team manages over 7,500 channels in three countries with stringent requirements for accuracy and tight timelines.  Candidates must be adept at problem solving, possess strong analytical skills and have an attention to detail.  There is a high operational tempo with occasional scheduled work outside normal business hours

Primary Responsibilities:

Proactively identify and partner with a diverse, cross functional team to resolve process problems.
Some on call work, some evenings, weekends, and holiday will be necessary on occasion.
Exercises superb follow-up and follow through skills and drive problems to resolution quickly.
Effectively interface with technical personnel both on and off site and learn the technical flow of complex systems
Work independently to achieve high performance and produce the desired results
Provide professional and tailored communications and updates specific to the audience being addressed.
Create and/or update current process documentation.
Provide data and analysis in support of the channel launch team for weekly maintenance/support activities for the customer facing satellite television and video on demand systems.
Learn the Conditional Access System and channel launch requirements to develop/deploy creative solutions to problem scenarios and configurations.
Responsible for the analysis of satellite bandwidth capacity and planning of channel & transponder management.
Develop and execute solutions for meeting future deployment and contingency planning needs.
Assist in maintaining a comprehensive set of documentation on the current system for use in future activity planning.
Utilize engineering and data analysis skills to identify issues and deploy solutions in a scalable and forward-thinking way.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, or BS in related technical field
5-8 years of demonstrated operational experience managing systems integration projects.
5 years of experience managing programs/projects in one or more of the following areas: Satellite or Cable TV, Application or Database Software Development, or Conditional Access Software.
Light travel required

Strong technical, analytical, organizational and communication skills are essential.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage projects spanning multiple geographic regions (international projects).
