GE Healthcare Digital is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Edison AI Services team delivering core services and technologies that empower software teams across GE Healthcare to rapidly create and deliver artificial intelligence-enabled software solutions. You will be responsible for programing a feature and or a small feature set of our Edison AI Services. Contribute to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management, beginning to work independently. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Contributes to technical engineering discussions.

Responsibilities

Have the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.

Demonstrate the ability to help team members through pair programming and code reviews.

Demonstrates awareness about product positioning and differentiations.

Has the ability to evaluate basic technology choices and articulate tradeoffs.

Applies principles of SDLC and Lean/Agile/XP/TDD/CI/CD methodologies to deliver high quality, secured, and scalable software modules.

Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.

Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using language of choice

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

2+ years of professional experience in Software development or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.

Understands the technology landscape, up to date on current technology trends and new technology, brings new ideas to the team.

Displays understanding of the project's value proposition for the customer. Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.

Desired Skills

Experience in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework.

Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, multi-process architecture, Python data structures, and Python packaging

Familiarity with implementing cloud solutions with Python

Strong debugging and unit testing skills using a well-known and accepted unit testing framework

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools and CI/CD processes

Experience with numpy, scipy, open-cv, imageio, matplotlib, pillow and other python libraries is a PLUS

Experience with Analytics, machine learning or Medical Imaging is a PLUS.

Experience with public cloud infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services or Azure is a PLUS

Have an solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application

Experience in API management tools like AWS API Gateway, Apigee is a plus.

Experience in Medical Imaging is a plus
