JOB SUMMARY:
Performs various accounting duties requiring some evaluation, ingenuity and limited responsibility accurately and on a timely basis. Duties are preformed according to generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assists in preparing various financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, etc. Assists in all closing activities and in running monthly accounting reports off of general ledger system.
Checks journal vouchers and financial reports for accuracy. Review vendor invoices and ensure proper coding of expenses
Oversees the setup and testing of Key Controls for Sarbanes Oxley. Testing Done Quarterly
Works with company auditors as needed.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 6 months previous experience working in an accounting environment
Preferred Education:
Associates degree in Finance or Accounting or 1-2 years experience in related field preferred
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Good understanding of financial process
Previous experience with accounting software
Experience with Consolidated Cash Pool reconciliations
Excel spreadsheet knowledge and skill
Basic Word skills
Experience with Great Plains Accounting helpful
Experience in claims processing helpful
