Responsibilities
As a Pension Actuarial Analyst, you’ll prepare, analyze, research, and consult on actuarial services for defined benefit pension plans. In addition, you’ll provide leadership and technical expertise for projects involving coordination between departments.
Other types of things you’ll do:
Completion and analysis of actuarial services and reports. (Capturing and prioritizing information and statistical and numerical analysis.)
Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to do so.
Consult with internal and external customers, providing sophisticated technical assistance and problem-solving. Present results and solutions to clients.
Proactively discuss client goals and make recommendations to meet their needs. This may include assisting actuary in presenting actuarial information in client meetings.
Contribute to the continued improvement and growth of the defined benefit practice through collaboration, mentoring, and development.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone with:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field, or equivalent.
2+ year of defined benefit experience (valuations and client consulting).
ProVal or other valuation software experience is helpful.
Knowledge of actuarial mathematics including probability and statistics, numerical analysis, and compound interest.
Proficient in MS Excel.
Completion of actuarial exams is valued, but not required.
Preferred experience in: programming languages, post-retirement medical plans, onboarding of new clients.
