Job Description

This individual will be the Lead Hardware Engineer (LHE) for the TB-37 Towed Array programs, as well as the Lead Engineer for hydrophone maintenance activities across all Towed Array product lines. Being mainly mechanically intensive in terms of the majority of development activities, it is preferred that this individual have a mechanical engineering or related degree with previous design experience. In this dynamic role, this person would be responsible for the hardware engineering work assignments, cost, schedule, requirements harmonization, managing risk & opportunities, and ensuring technical performance in support of TB-37 production and hydrophone activities focused on product improvement. This role also requires the successful individual to prepare, and support cost proposals and Earned Value (EV) status to program and Hardware Engineering leadership. Duties also include supporting technical baseline development and ensuring team compliance to Engineering processes and Peer Review standards.

Basic Qualifications:

This individual should have demonstrated successful leadership of diverse technical teams and should have relevant experience in interfacing with Program Management, Manufacturing, QA and Systems Engineering to resolve issues that arise during planning and execution phases of a project.

This individual must be a pro-active problem solver and must be able to identify the most efficient path towards any issue requiring resolution in the support of a fast-paced production environment; along with evidence in demonstrating team building skills.

Desired Skills:

This individual will be asked to participate in all phases of the project, including project planning, cost, and development and supporting on-going production activities.

This individual should be responsible, pro-active, and self-motivated leading a small Hardware Engineering team and will require daily interface with Program, Manufacturing, and Engineering Program Management.

Desired skills include the ability to generate Basis of Estimates in the GenBOE program along with familiarity with the EPDM and JIRA configuration and requirements tools. A strong track record demonstrating the ability to plan, to supervise staffing of teams which are not all collocated, and to successfully execute projects through completion is highly desirable.
