Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking anMid-Career Level Simulator Engineer to support our Flight Training Program in Miami, FL.As a Simulator Engineer you will work independently within a global network of virtual resources, exhibiting a strong sense of accountability and an aptitude to learn new skills. This candidate will use troubleshooting and problem solving skills and work on a diverse, international team. Candidate will alternate to 2nd or 3rd shift when required to meet operational needs, and will travel internationally in support of the Boeing global training network.Be part of our passionate and aviation inspired Simulator Engineering Team that enables world class Boeing training products and curriculum across our international training campus network.
Position Responsibilities
As a part of Boeings simulator engineering team you will be responsible for managing the life-cycle of Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) software including (but are not limited to)
* Providing technical engineering support for global simulator devices of all Boeing airplanes types and device manufacturers
* Fixing software bugs, and planning and executing simulator software modifications and updates to align to airplane changes
* Deploying new software loads, completing software/systems validation and verification, and following software configuration processes
* Learning the simulator architecture, tools, and processes in order to create a plan for long term device updates and engineering maintenance
* Maintaining and tuning the simulator Qualification Test Guide (QTG) objective tests
* Working closely with Boeing and customer pilots to ensure subjective validation of device
* Collaborating and overseeing supplier technical work on FSTDsBoeing is a customer first organization and as part of an operational training campus you will be expected to
* Maintain a customer first focus and support customer inquiries, questions, or requests
* Work closely with simulator operations teams to keep the Boeing simulator fleet operating seamlessly and ready to train customers 24/7FSTDs operate in a regulatory environment and additional job responsibilities will include
* Ensuring adherence to simulator standards and collaborating to successful regulatory qualifications
* Working with various global FSTD regulatory guidelines to enable international training capabilitiesEmployer is willing to sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the development or maintenance of flight simulator software- Experience reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and drawings- Experience with commercial airplane systems and cockpit functionality- Capable of traveling domestically and internationally- Capable of working a variable shift
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Software Engineering- Experience with systems and operations of the Boeing 787, 777, and 737 MAX- Experience with simulators manufactured by Thales/L-3, TRU Simulation and Training, CAE, and/or Flight Safety International- Experience working with an international team- Experience with the following airplane systems:Avionics, Aerodynamics, Flight Controls, Autopilot, Propulsion, Electrics, and Navigation- Knowledge of complex computer controlled airplane architecture- Experience with the simulator qualification process and regulatory environment- Experience with simulator qualification test guide (QTG) software, execution, and generation- Experience using Specification Control Documents (SCDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), schematics, wiring diagrams or other Boeing design documents
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
