Find your future with us.The Phantom Works Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) organization is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer at the St. Louis/Saint Charles MO or El Segundo CA site to support upcoming opportunities on Phantom Works programs which may include fixed wing aircraft, hypersonic cruise missile development, advanced autonomy and other emerging programs. The individuals in this role will play a key element in shaping the future for Boeing and our DoD Customers in Model Based Systems Engineering and Model Based Engineering on emerging weapons systems development programs.As a Systems Engineer on one of these emerging Phantom Works programs, you will work with experienced engineers to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces for aircraft and weapons platforms. Digital Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering will be a key focus in these activities. The ability to work in a collaborative team environment across sites and engineering disciplines to support and execute challenging tasks in a MBSE environment will be imperative to this on-site role. The selected individual will work in a fast paced, innovative environment where excellent technical, organizational, leadership, written and verbal communications skills are essential.
Primary Responsibilities
* Support interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, coordinate, design, develop and verify system solutions.
* Engage with leads and teammates across engineering disciplines
* Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to develop systems engineering product such as requirements decomposition, system architecture specifications, systems engineering and program plans, interfaces, risk assessment and mitigation, validation and verification planning, overall integration, etc.
* Support the development of a Digital Engineering Ecosystem and establish digital models as an integral part of the technical baseline including modeling and simulation and open systems architectures.
* Assist with development of verification and validation methods, processes, logic, and plans in support of program milestones.
* Assist with definition and coordination of system performance requirements and technical parameters.
* Assist with definition of high level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and test
* Individual must be capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
*This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.). Investigation type and last investigation date must be visible on resume.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
* Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
* 1 years experience in Systems Engineering processes and proceduresPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience)
* Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills working across multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as CAMEO, Vitech CORE/GENESYS, or similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tools
* Experience with requirements development, verification, validation, ICDs, risk, issues and opportunities management and trade studies
* Experience in applying model based engineering processes and principles
* Experience with systems development and integration
Typical Education & Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
