Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Test & Evaluation Metrology Engineer to join our team in Fort Greely, AK. This role will plan, check, set up, and operate, Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment. Also, use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair M&TE/process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE /process equipment manufacturers performance specifications.This role will conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results and utilize sourcing opportunities for customer assets that require supplier support and/or cannot be supported internally. As well as, manage and make decisions for sourced statement of work by utilizing MATES data tools and metrics to track assets to completion. This role will provide the customer statuses of their equipment and offer solutions for handling their asset(s) whether the asset is failing, needing repair, and/or surplus disposition actions.Associated Duties and Responsibilities
* Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork
* Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes
* Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by lead technician
* Perform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wear
* Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes
* Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes
* Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE, and assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures
* Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results
* Travel will be required to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair M&TE/process equipment in the site as requiredBoeing is the worlds largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems. Position Responsibilities

* Plans, conducts and documents tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
* Designs, fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies
* Coordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities
* Conducts system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown
* Conducts tests, analyzes data and documents results participates in test readiness reviews.
* Supports the development and verification of test methods
* Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
* Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact
* Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
* Use analytical tools to verify the design
* Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements
* Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problems
* Coordinates test laboratory activities and maintenance and repairs
* Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
* Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
* Presents test results internally
* Archives data and reports
* Works under general direction
* Coaches and trains others
* Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problemsThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

* Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
* 2 years metrology experience with general DC low frequency (including, but not limited to oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, igniter testers)
* Experience calibrating torque wrenches and systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

* Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
* Experience in troubleshooting equipment
* Experience in customer interaction

Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
