Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services is seeking a C-40A Mid-Level Service Engineer to join the Sustainment Team. The C-40A aircraft is a commercial derivative 737 aircraft with specialized systems and equipment integration. Focus of position is service engineering for structural/mechanical systems to provide customer support, to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and/or final engineering solutions. Position is located in Tukwila, WA.

This is a union represented position.

Position Responsibilities

* Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues recommends and manages resolution.
* Experience with systems, fluency with aircraft military maintenance programs and familiarity with electronic drawing management systems
* Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of the airframe, systems and support equipment.
* Provide engineering authority release for logistics issues such as Service Actions and Technical Dispositions.
* Research and analyze fleet data, participate on design/improvement teams to drive and implement improvements.
* Resolve complex program issues as well as research and develop engineering updates of very complex, highly visible technical in-service issues such as to determine safety implications, prepare analysis, recommendations and presentations regarding safety processes.
* Develop and evaluates engineering solutions related to product support concerns.
* Review work in progress to ensure that specifications, design requirements, criteria and performance to plan are achieved.
* Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting to understand root cause.This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
* Bachelors or Masters of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering
* Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
* 3 years of experience working with various engineering disciplines such as structure, electrical, mechanical, and avionics systems
* Able to travel 10 of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
* Experience in a Service Engineering (Commercial or Military) and/or Field Service related 737 aircraft maintenance in the area of structural / mechanical systems role
* Experience with structural/mechanical systems, fluency with aircraft military maintenance programs and familiarity with electronic drawing management systems
* Experience with customer maintenance program and manuals
* FAA Airframe and Power plant license or equivalent
* Experience with P-8A Poseidon or Derivative aircraft programs

Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
