Job Description

What Machine Operation contributes to Cardinal Health

Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

Accountabilities

* Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed.? Will be responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.
* Must understand and comply with all current plant policies and procedures.
* Will observe all safety practices as they relate to operating a forklift.? Will fill out proper forklift inspection records as required.
* Will order all material necessary to run and maintain the machine, i.e. baling wire.
* Unload, tie off, weigh (if necessary), and safely store bales of recovered waste pads/diapers.
* Will clean the machine and the immediate area as well as keep equipment and materials neat and orderly and in their proper place.
* Must be able to clear Robots Faults, clear sorter jams? and operator T-Cars as needed to keep cases moving throughout system
* Complete all paperwork in a neat, orderly, and timely manner.
* Communicate with supervisor in order to maintain good lines of communication regarding equipment, job performance, safety, and operational needs.
* Communicate with other shift supervisors and operators so that teamwork can be fostered and efforts can be coordinated to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity.
* Obtain and/or maintain current forklift operators license.

Qualifications

* High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
* 1-3 years manufacturing environment experience preferred

* Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
* Works on basic and routine assignments
* Works within clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures and/or scientific methods
* Adheres to all quality guidelines
* Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy
* Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
