Technical Associate, Project Coordinator

Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

This hourly position is part of Milliken Chemicals Polymer Additives Business.  The role provides project management support for the development of new products.   The ideal candidate will have practical laboratory experience, as well as experience in creating and administering project schedules.  Experience in project management software such as MS Project is a plus. 

The position is located at our corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, SC. Hours of work are typically Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with some flex time.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Project coordinator for multiple projects with diverse teams
Document and maintain detailed project plans & other project files
Work effectively with team members to define, communicate, and achieve project targets and deadlines
Help foster a culture of accountability & ensure compliance with processes
Detailed record keeping
Organize and effectively communicate results & metrics (reports, tables, charts)
Perform technical tasks in support of projects
Adept data management and quantitative analysis

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

BS or MS degree in a technical field
Project coordination or management experience (certification preferred – CAPM or PMP)

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

Strong work ethic and good planning and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project (or equivalent), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; database experience is a plus
