Hardware Application Engineer Ethernet Switch

Job Description

This position requires in-depth Ethernet Switch/Controller product development knowledge while also providing the ideal candidate with exposure to sales and marketing experience. The ideal candidate has worked in networking related products including one or more of switch silicon, smart NICs or FPGA based products.

Some amount of travel may be required for this position.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

- Provide deep technical support to customers, starting from design review of system hardware architecture, through system bring-up and qualification, all the way to volume production.

- Develop and deliver technical demos, training, consultation, and hands on assistance to customers in the areas of system development, link tuning and hardware system validation.

- Author technical documentation and white papers on Intel's programmable switch technology and develop training courses for customers in your capacity as a system and hardware expert.

- Provide field feedback to inbound marketing and engineering teams to aid in future product definition and development processes.

Qualifications
 

Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have hands-on experience with development and debugging in related areas mentioned below along with responsibilities that require direct interaction with customers.

BS (in Electrical Engineering or related field) with 6+ years of industry experience
4+ years of experience in designing or troubleshooting high speed

 SerDes systems
2+ years of experience in Ethernet networking

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience in diagnosing and triaging signal integrity issues with PAM4 and NRZ SerDes
2+ years of experience with running diagnostics software on merchant switch silicon

2+ years of experience supporting customers throughout a product life cycle
2+ years of experience using C++ at the driver level and Python for test scripting
2+ years of experience in debugging QSFP, I2C and PCIe links
