If you are located in the state of MD, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges. Initially will be remote, could be asked to come to the office at some point.

Primary Responsibilities
* Guide telephonic reviews, obtain relevant clinical information from behavioral health providers, review treatment plans, determine appropriate levels of care, and administer public behavioral health benefits
* Review written requests for authorizations submitted through a provider portal
* Oversee initial and continued stay requests for authorization to inpatient and outpatient psychiatric, chemical dependency, and dual diagnosis treatment services
* Coordinate transitions between various levels of care
* Telephonic assessment and triage of participants in behavioral health crisis

Required Qualifications
* Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling or Licensed Ph.D. or Registered Nurse with Behavioral Health experience
* Current, unrestricted license to practice behavioral health treatment in the state of Maryland
* 2 years of experience in behavioral health
* Reside in the State of Maryland
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel)
* Designated workspace and access to install secure high-speed internet via cable/DSL in home
* If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications
* Direct practice experience in the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System
* Experience with Medicaid populations
* Experience in treating people with Substance Use Disorders and/or those who are dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders
* Managed Care experience and/or experience working in an environment that required coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple groups and resources for patients
* Knowledge of public resources throughout Maryland
* Bilingual Spanish
