The Integrated Brand Strategy Team is responsible for the development of the creative strategy across most brand level communications. We partner closely with our Agency Partners & our internal creative & strategy teams to develop work that puts our diverse customer at the center of all communications and gives Macy’s a unique role to play in their lives. We are responsible for ensuring that a fashion or holiday campaign idea is expressed in a tightly integrated way across all touchpoints to ensure we are seen as a brand with a point of view on fashion, finding thoughtful gifts and individual style. The integration can’t happen without collaborating with the subject experts across the marketing organization in their respective fields (The Customer Teams, Comms Planning, Account Executive Merchant teams, Project Management, Macy’s Creative, Corp Comms, etc).
In addition to driving the creative strategy, we are also responsible for Brand Love & Product Authority video (Broadcast and OLV). We partner with our Agency Partners on these productions.
We are looking for someone with a strategic background who has worked closely with creative teams throughout their career. Must be highly motivated, proactive, collaborative, a self-starter, solution oriented, resilient, interested in customer data and comms planning, and above all --- a champion of the creative process and building strategies that lead to great work.
Essential Functions:
Briefs, Presentations, Playbooks and Reviewing creative work:
• Must have a strong presence and feel comfortable developing creative briefs, speaking up and providing direction, briefing teams, presenting creative strategy to set up the creative work for internal and external presentations, etc.
• Understands the customer journey in order to take a high-level creative strategy and inform how that would be expressed across the various touchpoints
• Must be able to interpret data and to provide a post analysis on what worked, and what didn’t within a campaign, and at the channel level.
Additional Strategy & Executional Support:
• Strives to be representative and sensitive to all of our customers so they feel reflected in our communications.
• Keeping a close watch on micro and macro trends in consumer mindset/behavior.
• Keeping a close watch on competitors’ marketing efforts and elevating anything relevant.
Collaboration and Process:
• Collaborates with PM, Production, Media and AE teams on gaining a deep understanding of the process and all timings.
• Responsible for helping to keep Int.BS projects on track, and for managing up when key dates are at risk.
• Responsible for the natural flow of communication with the PM team to ensure timings are adjusted as the process naturally evolves.
Execution:
• Bringing the strategy to life in certain channels (from start to finish).
• Responsible for the logistical details associated with storytelling & messaging in Love and Authority TV & OLV.
• Partnering with Production on the executional details – from start to in market:
• Partnering with the Director in presenting concept to AE Team & other internal teams.
Meetings & Housekeeping:
• Responsible for meeting prep for the integrated brand strategy team where appropriate.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university

• Has worked directly with creative teams and driven creative strategy.
• The ability to take a high-level brand strategy and provide guidance for how that comes to life in different channels to ensure messaging is relevant and in line with the customer journey.
• Is a strategic thinker who understands the importance of collaborative communications, planning, innovation, flawless execution and analytics.
• Possesses a passion for building our brand, reaching our customers with relevant messages, driving consideration and demand and meeting all objectives for consumer facing comms.
• Demonstrates success in collaborating, partnering and influencing at all levels and across all functions of the organization
• Highly motivated, positive, ambitious and result driven.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially PowerPoint. We are storytellers and understand that the words we use, the narratives we tell and the way we present --- all matter.
• Highly proactive and able to work independently when necessary to meet team objectives. An understanding of the need for the team’s roles/responsibilities to shift and evolve over time given the nature of the role.
