POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage and report the results of Accounts Receivable (A/R) of Bakken Upstream operations. This will include working in collaboration with the Hess India North Dakota Joint Venture (JV) Accounting Team in Bangalore and satisfying various ad-hoc requests.
A successful candidate for this position will be a team-player with a sound understanding of oil & gas accounting, possess good communication and technical skills, and have high standards of excellence and attention to detail with a willingness to learn and the flexibility to work through peak work cycles.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Bakken Upstream JV A/R balances by providing high quality service to the owners while building trusted relationships and addressing owner inquiries in a timely manner.
Manage Joint Interest Billing (JIB) processing in SAP and the subsequent posting of JIB’s in EnergyLink.
Actively utilize JV A/R Database to manage JV A/R balances and work with the owners to keep those balances current in terms of the aging.
Analyze executed owner equity adjustments in SAP. Identify and make subsequent correcting JV A/R entries to adjust the owner balances as needed.
Participate and contribute to the Monthly JV A/R meeting and provide a status update on responsible JV A/R owner balances. Manage subsequent JV A/R reporting as needed.
Manage dormant JV A/R owner balances assigned to the desk and progress their resolution by researching the issues and identifying corrective countermeasures.
Work closely and collaborate with Land team supporting existing operating rhythms. Investigate JV A/R matters and bring up ownership issues to Land team’s attention for further resolution. Support Land team on JVA related matters.
Closely collaborate with Hess India JVA Team in Bangalore by utilizing their help to manage JV A/R balances while providing them with guidance and direction.
Participate in various process automation projects as well as identify and initiate the process improvement opportunities stemming from performing the daily work activities.
Ability to exhibit Lean process improvement, and automation mentality and skillsets.
Research owner cash remittances and apply to the correct owner accounts
Satisfy various ad-hoc requests and perform special project work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
· 2 - 6 years of oil & gas accounting experience is required
· 2 - 4 years of JVA relevant experience is preferred
· 1 plus years of accounting process automation experience is desirable
Requirements:
Adequate oil & gas accounting skills
2 - 6 years of E&P operations experience
Strong analytical skills
2 - 6 years of experience using SAP, Excel, and Word

Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business field required
