The Human Resources and Professional Development (HRPD) Advisor will provide expertise to assist with strategic Human Resources (HR) programs and policies and to support other HR professionals across our Canadian Buildings sector. This position will work closely with the sector senior HR leadership team to position PCL as an employer of choice.

As an  HRPD Advisor  for our  Canadian Buildings  sector located at our  North American   Headquarters  in  Edmonton, AB,  you will contribute to our team by :

Assisting the sector’s HR leaders in implementing and assessing national human resources programs, policies, and processes in alignment with sector and company strategy and priorities.
Being responsible for the planning, execution and results of specific project work including: Talent Acquisition, Engagement, Professional Development, and Wellness.
Managing the communication, change management plan to deliver on program responsibilities
Providing short term full cycle human resources support to international projects.
Advocating that sector interests and needs are met by corporate HRPD programs, policies, and processes.
Analyzing and identify trends and recommend solutions.
Developing and maintaining budget for assigned programs/initiatives.
Identifying and managing risk and opportunities within HRPD processes, projects or programs.
Establishing and maintaining strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Other duties as required

What you will bring to the role:

Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
7 - 10 years of progressive human resources experience preferred. Demonstrated understanding and application of HRPD-related principles, practices, procedures, and employment legislation.
Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
Ability to research, analyze information and data, and make recommendations. Able to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
Seen as a trusted advisor with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and present ideas and content that influence a favorable outcome.
Strong organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
Results-oriented and has project management experience.
Knowledge of change management methodologies.
Demonstrated critical-thinking skills.
