Job Description

Avis Budget Car Rental LLC is searching for a Customer Service Research Specialist to join our Central Billing Department based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing payment data, resolving disputes and other accounting related issues for Central Billing accounts.

The primary function of this position is to analyze, adjust, and correspond with Avis Budget Groups US and Canadian Central Billing Corporate and Tour accounts for a combined receivable of $400M annually in total inputs. Analysis should be explicit to payment data, customers disputes and other accounting related issues. Through the analysis process be identified and corrected for misapplied cash, rate issues, on account balances, and partial payments. 

 

What youll do


* Perform extensive primary and secondary research to develop a detailed understanding of the root cause of the billing discrepancies

* Analyze, evaluates, access, interpret, and synthesize research finding to acquire valuable insight on disputed charges to identify problem areas as it relates to rate codes used by a multiplicity of accounts.

* Ensure proper interpretation of negotiated contracts to defend the companys position and ensure an amicable resolution is reached

* Complete adjustments through the use of general ledger and journal entry accounting in an effort to enhance collections on open receivable items

* Provide resolutions to customer inquiries using multiple forms of communication (e.g., email, telephone, fax, etc.)

* Act as a liaison between field operations, sales, collections, WRC, EMEA, LAC, Asia Pacific and Corporate/Tour account holders

* Other duties as assigned



What were looking for: (may vary by level)


* 2 year of customer service and journal entry experience required

* 1 years of research analysis in the rental car industry preferred

Skills and abilities you should have:


* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Strong documentation skills

* Strong aptitude of debits and credits as it relates to journal entries

* Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities

* Strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills

* Strong knowledge of MS Outlook; MS Word; MS Excel is essential

* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks

* Must have the ability to listen effectively and work with all levels of management in a team environment
