The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting the Loan Accounting team in the management of loan accounting and commission processing. This role will work closely with the Vice President of Accounting Operations to ensure that the Company’s revenue streams and balance sheet accounts associated with loan accounting are properly recorded.

What you will be doing:

Serve as the primary support in managing loan funding activities and ensure that adequate resource allocations among the team are in place in order to handle high volatility (volume) across different product lines

Review and approve MSR gross value calculation on all MSRs less than $500,000

Manage the Company’s proprietary MSR subledger system

Prepare the Company’s quarterly derivative calculations

Supervise loan accounting staff. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day work, developing, and mentoring staff, including staffing, performance reviews, salary recommendations, promotions, and terminations

Review, and prepare as necessary, account reconciliations as identified and assigned on the monthly closing checklist

Review, and prepare as necessary, journal entries related to servicing fees, interest income and expense, derivatives, MSR capitalizations, MSR amortization, origination fees, loans held for sale, loans held for investment, and other related areas

Identify areas for process improvement and suggest and implement process improvements

Assist with Accounting system implementations as necessary

Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, often in combination with travel

The education and experience we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

5 plus years of progressively responsible accounting experience

Team management experience preferred

Ability to interpret compensation agreements
